AutoCentre1 is an advanced system designed specifically for companies that provide a ‘supply & fit' service to motorists; including tyres, exhausts, brakes, batteries, routine maintenance, etc. AutoCentre1is designed for multi-branch operations, handling the communications between branches and a centralised Head Office system.

Communication is a key element of AutoCentre1. The system allows branches to link to a central Head Office server over a Wide Area Network (WAN). Data can be exchanged rapidly and central records can be continually updated. The Head Office system can interrogate branches at any time. Branches can interrogate the Head Office system and one another to obtain an instant picture of stock availability.

Robust

AutoCentre1 is designed to minimise the effects of component failure. All branch workstations normally operate as part of the network, but can work in a standalone. A communications link or central server failure does not render the system inoperable If a single workstations fails then a second workstation can continue to operate in isolation or a part of the network.

Flexible Design

AutoCentre1 is programmed for flexibility using the Progress Software Corporations RDBMS (Relational Database Management System) and 4th Generation Programming. It runs under a wide range of operating systems including Windows 98/2000/NT, Windows XP and UNIX. AutoCentre1 can operate as a standalone system running on individual PC's, as part of a LAN (Local Area Network) with a branch server, or as part of a WAN (Wide Area Network) connected to a central server at Head Office.
